Hi, I'm Hannah and I'm the owner of Handmade by Hannah Wedding and Celebration cakes. I set-up the business in 2008 after making and baking cakes as a hobby for many years. I now have over 15 years experience of creating and designing wedding cakes and working within the wedding industry.

 

As for so many people, my love of baking began as a child when I would bake with my mum in our family kitchen. Being allowed to try the remains of the cake batter and sneaking a little of the buttercream before it filled the delicious Victoria sponge cake! I continued to bake throughout my teens and twenties but life and work meant that I could not indulge my passion for baking anywhere near as much as I would have liked. A substantial spell of poor health saw me turn to baking and decoration cakes more regularly, as much for therapeutic reasons as any other! 15 years ago I embarked on the adventure of setting up my own cake making business and haven't looked back since!

I absolutely love my job and consider it an honour to design and make beautiful cakes for my customers. I take great pride in making my cakes taste absolutely fantastic and ensuring that they all leave my bakery looking as good as they taste.

There is so much variety involved in being a cake maker but it's definitely not just about the baking and creating of the cake. I'm very much a people person and my ability to communicate well with my customers makes the process of choosing and booking a cake much more enjoyable.
